Cleaning Lady

Ok quick back story on this mark. We had her all picked out, but she had her back facing us.So to get her to turn around for the gang, I coughed really loudly. She turned and had this large group of artist staring at her, and had this expression of anger. Like a pro wrestler ready to fight! She prob looked nothing like this but in my head she was ready to beat me down. :)

Banana Lady

This was our latest mark, and old lady that was by the banana tent buying some fruit. I for some reason thought at one point she might have been a teacher, which lead me to composting my sketch onto a chalk board! :)

Catch up!

Ok tryin to play catch up here! :) I will most likely color this dude later but wanted to at least get a post up! :)

From the Not-Something-You-See-Everyday Department

We had just settled on a mark, which was a diminutive elderly downtown regular with 3-4 bags hanging off each arm, huge straw hat, rubber gloves, curved back, weathered face...Can't miss, right? Ah, but Darnell had already drawn her in his sketchbook, so she was DQ'd. What to do? Lunch almos' pau... But two seconds later a young lady with a giant Oscar Meyer Wienermobile plush toy walks by... No joke.

Latest Mark!

:)

Black & White at Bishop Square

From mid-July at Bishop Square at the corner of Bishop and King in beautiful downtown Honolulu...a lady in black & white who scurried off quickly when she sensed the eyes of the conflagration of artists trying to stare surreptitiously.

On Guard

Sketch Club Hawaii Friday after a couple of weeks off. Our special guest Brian K. Roberts of Big Idea joined us and did the honors of picking our mark for us... Here's my take on the security host in front of the building.

Is it okay to post non-mark drawings?

Well if not, I'll take this down, but here's someone familiar.... :)

Armsling Purple green man

I messed this one up in the way I did the background. Oh well, live and learn.

Mark 1 - Backwards Beardman

Finally uploading, but I have bad sense of colors so I'll be practicing this. :)

Longsleeves

From a few weeks ago, Don drew this guy earlier... I remember him eating his lunch... Maybe Don got 'im after he finished eating, an' maybe he ate his sleeves for dessert...

Leather'n'Spots

A few weeks back this mark presented herself at the end of lunchtime. Yes, she really did wear that.

Honolulu Hat'n'Cane

Trying to catch up on the posts... The animation team at Hawai'i Animation Studios has kept the streak alive by sketching every Friday lunchtime since the beginning of February when Sketchclub Hawaii started. We've been in a series of deadline crunches that has made it hard to get all the sketches up. We're still crankin' but ya gotta sketch to keep the juices flowing. Here's one from a recent Friday...Once again when it comes to picking a mark there always seems to be a character who just pops out of no where and becomes the unanimous choice.

Hapai

...hapai is Hawaiian for "expecting," "in a family way," "with child," "pregnant..." etc... At our weekly Friday gathering in downtown Honolulu, a happy hapai mother-to-be passed us on the steps and became the mark... the stork has GPS

New mark

I like to give this guy the name Mr. Fooberbocker, he loves to take things apart and fix them up, a security guard maybe, who like the white rabbit is always in a hurry to get from here to there. :)

Samurai Homeless

The second week of Sketch Club Hawaii in downtown Honolulu, another colorful character crossed our path on the way back from lunch.

Recent Mark

All I can remember about this guy was his toes, :) so this is what I came up with along with a weird poem using only words that begin with the letter T. :)

Backward Beard Man

The inaugural Hawaii franchise of Sketch Club was held last Friday the 5th of March in downtown Honolulu. The animation crew from the brand new Hawaii Animation Studios broke the ice (I don't see any ice), and the first mark for the club was "Backward Beard Man" walked by the corner of Bishop and Hotel Street...Too good to pass up...
